8c2. Completed Strobe & Flashing Lights

July 8, 1999.  All the electronics built by Graeme Murray of Murray Design of New Zealand have been finally incorporated into each fin.   Since all fins are removable for transport, each fin requires its own eight pin connector.

Doug Malewicki and John Cole of New Zealand's Anzus Technologies check out the  completed F-18 Jet Bike fins and their special trailing edge lighting system.

The super bright red Light Emitting Diodes flash sequentially starting from the inside of each fin and progressing to the outside tip of the fins.  When the traveling lights reach the tip of the fin an enclosed flash tube is triggered with a pulse of 4,000 volts.  The effect is stunning!  Race fans will love it!
