Step 3:
Buy 70 miles of Kiddy Train sets in order to have 35 miles of bi-directional
capability and 70 Kiddy Train sets.
Put stations in every mile.
Benefit: Compared to standard Light Rail much less land will be consumed to place this "skinny" Kiddy train track in the Greater Phoenix Area.
Footnotes:
This means that a smaller number of existing lanes currently devoted for car traffic will have to be taken over. It also means a lot less commercial buildings, residences or schools will have to be destroyed to make way for the Kiddy train as compared to the land required to install the proposed Light Rail. (Never could figure out how those 218,000 pound monsters got the name "light" rail?)
