SkyTran - To the Moon!
In 2038 we even got a request for proposal from NASA to explore using our pressurized SkyTran's to make transportation between the various moon colonies safer and cheaper. After some analysis, we realized we should have thought of that possibility on our own. With no aerodynamic drag whatsoever and 1/6th the gravitational attraction of earth there was no problem attaining 2,000 mph speeds. MagLev power consumption to cruise along at 2,000 mph (3,000 km/h) in a vacuum was just 5.7 horsepower (4.3 kW). SkyTran SST made the NASA Lunar rocket transports, which used expensive and hazardous rocket propellants, obsolete in just three years.

Well you know the rest. And I love it dearly, because I still get my hundredth of a penny per passenger mile royalty on Earth, Moon and Mars.

OK kids, time for all of you to get to sleep. I've got to take my Nanomedic pills and get to bed early myself if I'm going to be in decent shape for STAGE 7 of the "2052 TOUR DE LUNA" mountain bike race. I'm still back in 5th place out of the 60 people competing in the ultra-seniors class.

Love those Nanomedic pills! Been using them since they were perfected in 2016. Raw stock made of Teflon microspheres, Asimov Research, Inc. actuator plastics, and exotic composites, all mixed in with a few hundred thousand Nanomedic machines. Specialized Nanomedics transport these repair materials, microscopic piece by microscopic piece, to wherever this old body needs them. The Teflon goes to replacing worn joint cartilage bearing surfaces, the plastics to all the muscles and the composites to rebuild bone strength. Other Nanomedics navigate the bloodstream, digging out any new microscopic plaque buildups.

Couldn't complain that I had to pay for them myself. Here I am 113 years old, already 28% by weight of Asimov Research, Inc. plastic and exotic composites and I still can’t get any Social Security or Medicaid for another 14 years - if ever. It sure was bold of President Ventura in 2013 to declare that he was reverting Social Security back to its original 1950's concept. Namely, no one would collect anything until 2 years after the current computed average life span of the US population. We went from age 47 in 1900, to 63 in the mid 1950's, to age 76 in 2000.

Then the telerase invention in 2009 and the gene therapy invention of 2012 to arrest muscle degeneration and atrophy due to aging jumped it to a joyously healthy 107 overnight. Sure unburdened you young people from that old oppressive tax in a flash! Personally, I hope that more great aging related breakthroughs keep happening, so I wouldn't be eligible to collect until I’m at least 198 years old!

  2. Regaine™ Matrix Field. Subdermally imbedded individual nano hair follicle root massage units.
  3. Pentium™ XVI Controlled Enhanced Smell Detection Implant. Unit is programmed by the individual to heighten the impression of desirable scents and diminish all predefined undesirable smells.
  4. Pentium™ XIX Controlled Hearing Enhancer. Automatically detects and noise cancels 2050's hot Zip/Zop and Zap music while reforming sound waves of Tchaikovsky, etc. to replicate full concert hall experience.
  5. Bionic Teeth Replacements. Advanced composite core formed from Dupont Buckyball "Impervium™" with interstitial bonded titanium and plasma spray outer coating
  6. Subdermal Mounted Tactile Neck Massage Sensors. Detects magnitude and rates of change of temperature, pressure and surface contact speed to provide feedback control loop data for integrated system control of component 7. Earlier models protruded 2 centimeters for direct electrical connection purposes.
  7. Pentium™ XXX Controlled Emotion Enhancer. A recent computer development specifically designed for the ultra-seniors market that embellishes colors, sounds, smells, tastes and feelings.
  8. Asimov Research, Inc. Model 2-14 Two Stage Centrifugal Blood Flow Booster Pump. Model 2-14 equipped humans can run 20% faster for 50% longer distances than possible with their organic pumps alone.
  9. Asimov Research, Inc. Extruded Co-filament Plastic Biogenic Muscle Replacement/ Enhancement Actuators. Power, not frailty.
  10. Rock Shox™ High Impact Bone and Joint Replacements. Tempered woven Buckyball "Impervium™" with autoclave bonded unidirectional "Impervium™".

Anyway, kids, I have to leave at 7:00 a.m. to be ready at the starting line at 8:00 a.m. Let's see.... a half-hour on the SkyTran SST will cover the 900 miles from home to tomorrow's start at Copernicus. That leaves me a half-hour to stretch and warm up before this stage to Mare Vaporum begins - perfect. G'night kids, hugs and kisses. And little Michelle here's a special birthday hug in advance for you, just in case I've already left when you get up tomorrow.

And, of course, we'll all be looking forward to a terrific April 1 birthday party for you as soon as I get back!

THE END

Doug Malewicki (photo above) earned a BS in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MS in the same from Stanford University. If you think his predictive paper talks about some radical fun future electrical/electronic and mechanical possibilities, you should to go his web site at www.CanoSOARus.com to check out all the similarly bizarre, though quite real machines and vehicles he built during his early days on planet Earth.
