8b. F-18 Horizontal Elevators

The small Horizontal elevators will be bolted to the Parachute Canisters.  This fixtures assures the drill and tapped tubes are perfectly aligned during bonding.

The fin is skinned with .032" thick G-10 fiberglass.  Light and strong for 250 mph speeds!  Note the clear trailing edge in this closeup view.  This will enclose a string of sequentially blinking "painfully bright" red LED's along with a flashing strobe light at the very tip.
