Congestion Compression
This animation
(compliments of ...??.. Denver, CO) shows how autonomous, high
speed, track guided passenger vehicles using intelligent high speed
computers and sensors could eliminate road congestion.
Frame 1) shows the humans being transported on the freeway in their
3,000 pound automobiles;
Frame 2) shows just the humans (the real cargo of importance)
and the small amount of road surface they actually require;
Frame 3) shows all the human "cargo" moved to the center
median (the road is now empty!); and
Frame 4) shows the same number of humans being
driven to their destinations via super attentive computer
chauffeurs! The solution to modern congestion is closely
packed, high speed, individual vehicles moving in automatic
synchronization with all other high speed vehicles.
Frame 5) shows the unneeded asphalt removed and most of the former
freeway planted as a grass garden!
